Artist's Comments
My first solo painting - merely an experiment. I was in a funny mood while attempting this peice. After completing it, I wrote in black marker on the back of the canvas the following:
Painted on the floor of Eric's room in the summer of 2004. Eric thought it was a man's head. It wasn't. I just painted what felt right - it was THE VIBE. We listened to Hendrix and 'The Yellow Submarine' and then went to Alex/Ryan's house for some beers. Karl didn't want us at his' drinking tea on his veranda 'cause he wasn't "in the mood". I got an OP 8 from senior school - not a bad effort for a prat who's Mum and Dad had pegged as an OP 15 knob-head. Now Eric is listening to crazy trumpet and sax music. It's great. He reckons that (quote) "It's the funniest thing in the whole world when your stoned". He has a beard. Let's go to Karl's!... ------------------------ You can look at this magnificent manuscript in my scrap's. |
